Mi rilasso così, godendomi l'insolito silenzio della mia casa sempre " affollata" !

Una cosa vecchia, una cosa nuova, una cosa prestata e una cosa .....viola.

Something old, something blue, something borrowed, something...purple.



Una cosa vecchia, una nuova, una prestata e una blu!
E' tradizione Americana, ma credo anche Anglosassone, che la sposa indossi una cosa vecchia, una nuova, una prestata e una.....blu, nel giorno del suo matrimonio.
Anch'io ho rispettato quest'usanza quasi diciotto anni fa.
UNA COSA VECCHIA rappresenta il legame con la famiglia della sposa, sopratutto con la madre, la nonna, la bisnonna.E' un simbolo di continuità, di affetto familiare indissolubile...(l'oggetto può essere per esempio un gioiello di famiglia)
UNA COSA NUOVA invece è simbolo di buona fortuna e successo nella nuova vita matrimoniale.
UNA COSA PRESTATA ricorda alla sposa che gli amici e la famiglia le saranno vicini durante il nuovo cammino a due, e generalmente è un' amica felicemente sposata che presta qualcosa che poi la sposa le renderà dopo la cerimonia.
Indossare UNA COSA BLU denota amore, modestia e fedeltà.

This is an American tradition and many brides ensure that they have something of each in their wedding outfit.
I did the same ,about 18 years ago...
SOMETHING OLD is meant to represent the link with the bride's own family and past, especially mother or grand mother or even most distant relations. It's symbolic of continuity, and it may be a piece of antique family jewellery.
SOMETHING NEW represents good luck and success in the new married life.
SOMETHING BORROWED is to represent to the bride that friends and family will be there for her in the future.The borrowed thing has to come from a happily married woman and it must be returned afterwards.
BLUE is the symbol of faithfulness, purity and loyalty.

Pasta di turchese, briciole di corallo nero, wiring e...una stecca di vaniglia!

L'unico aspetto positivo di questa estate che tarda ad arrivare è che ho finalmente un po' di tempo per me, visto che di andare a mare non se ne parla....

Summer is not here yet , even if it is supposed to be. We don't go to the beach and I have a little time for myself.

Ne ho approfittato per realizzare queste due collane, molto simili, con agata viola, pasta di turchese, corda e wiring.

In the meanwhile, I made these two necklaces with purple agata, turquoise, string and wiring.

Mi è piaciuta la combinazione di questi due colori, viola e azzurro, con un tocco di corda e un po' d'argento.

I liked mixing purple and blue with string and a dash of silver.

E' un po' che non postavo cose nuove......troppo da fare.....figli....scuola....casa....

Qualche sera fa, dopo una giornata molto .....diciamo impegnativa....ho fatto due collane, per rilassarmi un po'......

A few nights ago, after a very busy day...I made these two necklaces...it's my favourite way to relax...
